Dr. JIN Lei, the general manager of GenSci, graduated from University of California in the United States. He is the first American Chinese to win the ‘‘Kreven’s Award’’ and is the academic leader of science and technology projects. He independently created the unique ‘‘secretory expression technology’’. He has consecutively won many honors such as ‘‘National Achievement Award for Overseas Returnees’’, ‘‘Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award for Overseas Chinese Professionals’’, national ‘‘Outstanding Engineer Award’’ and ‘‘the Innovative Drug Prize of the 2019 China Pharmaceutical Development Award’’.

‘‘GenSci’’ is one of the top 100 pharmaceutical manufacturers in China, the largest genetic engineering pharmaceutical base in China and the first genetic engineering pharmaceutical quality management demonstration center in China. In 2004, it won the first prize of Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2016, it won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, which is the first national award for new pharmaceuticals for genetic engineering in Jilin Province for more than 10 years and the fourth national award for new pharmaceuticals for genetic engineering across the country for more than 30 years.

Its leading product is recombinant human growth hormone series products. In 1998, the first domestic powder injection was launched. In 2005, the first human growth hormone point injection in Asia was launched. In 2014, the world’s first long-acting human growth hormone was launched, with nearly 70% domestic market share at present. In 2008, the world’s first recombinant human granulocyte and macrophage stimulating factor gel for wound healing was launched. In 2015, the first domestic generic drug of recombinant human follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) for injection was launched, which broke the long-term dependence on import in this field and led the domestic market in technology.
